With the time clock (Stempeluhr) your employees clock in, take breaks and clock out in the KiDig app. The clocked times only count once the person takes them over into their day after clocking out.
KiDig enables the time clock per facility; then the leader switches it on under ☰ → Einrichtungseinstellungen → Stempeluhr nutzen. Entering times by hand remains possible alongside it. Anyone who does not clock enters their times as before.
Clocking
- On the app's home screen: Einstempeln, Pause, Weiter, Feierabend. A break is the gap between "Pause" and "Weiter".
- Each tap can be undone for 15 seconds (for example "Versehentlich Pause? Rückgängig").
- KiDig corrects a phone clock that is off using the server's time, and does not round.
- Without a connection the app collects the taps and sends them once it is back online. Anything older than 48 hours is no longer accepted; the app shows rejected clockings so you can enter them by hand.
- Clocking only works in the app. In the browser employees see whether they are clocked in and whether times still need to be taken over.
- The leader's facility account cannot clock. A leader who records their own times needs a separate employee account.
Ending the day and breaks
- If less than 30 minutes have been clocked today, or the shift in the published duty roster runs for more than another hour, the app asks "Schon Feierabend?".
- If you tap Feierabend during a break, the app asks whether you worked again after the break.
- If the recorded break is shorter than your tariff's break rules require, the app usually shows this when you clock out. You can add the break or leave it; break deduction then applies as for any other time entry.
Taking times over into the day
- Clocked times only count once the person taps "Übernehmen" after clocking out (after later changes "Erneut übernehmen"). If this replaces times in the day or there are notices, the app shows that first and asks.
- If the day has no taken-over times yet, the clocked times replace all times already in the day. If clocked times have already been taken over, manual entries that do not overlap clocked times are kept.
- Newly taken-over times start as child time; an added break keeps the time type of the time it splits. Time type and note can be changed in the day.
- After taking over, the app shows "In den Tag übernommen · Rückgängig" for two minutes. This restores the day as it was before, as long as it has not been changed since.
- A clocking that runs past midnight or across the clock change is not taken over; enter that time by hand.
Corrections
- In the app, under "Gestempelte Zeiten korrigieren" (the "Stempelungen" page), each person corrects their own clockings of the last 31 days, online: with a reason (for example "Ausstempeln vergessen"), by adding a break (Pause nachtragen), or by discarding (Verwerfen). The original times are kept.
- For that time, start and end of taken-over times are locked in the day: nobody can move or delete them there or cover them with manual entries, the leader included. A discarded clocking frees the time at once; older days can be edited normally again.
- The leader cannot change clockings. They can edit the day, except for the locked times.
Forgot to clock in or out
- KiDig never ends anything by itself. If a clocking is still running after midnight, the app shows "Ende fehlt" (end missing) and offers "Ende eintragen": choose the actual time. For a break that was never ended, choose "Das war Feierabend" or "Danach weitergearbeitet".
- From ten hours clocked today, the app asks "Feierabend vergessen?" while you are working.
- Clocked in too late? After clocking out, correct the start under "Gestempelte Zeiten korrigieren" with the reason "Einstempeln vergessen". If there is no clocking that day at all, enter the time by hand in the day.
What the leader sees
- On the Heute page, the "Eingestempelt" card: who is working, on a break or done for the day, and whose end is missing. This is not an attendance list: anyone who does not clock is missing there.
- In a person's day view, the clocked times, whether they were taken over, corrections, and differences between the day and the clockings.
Common questions
Why are my clocked times not in my day? Usually they have not been taken over yet. After clocking out, tap "Übernehmen" in the app and follow its notices.
I can't change the time in my day. Start and end of taken-over times of the last 31 days are corrected in the app under "Gestempelte Zeiten korrigieren". Time type and note are changed in the day.
Does every facility have to clock? No. Employers must record working time (BAG, 13 Sept 2022 – 1 ABR 22/21), but the law does not require a time clock. Times entered by hand can be enough if they are recorded reliably and completely.
